Hosted by TriWorks at the East Fortune race track these duathlons brought together competitors of all age groups. From very young in the TriStar events to the very good in this qualifier event for the European Sprint Distance Championships 2027.
Perfect Timing (no relation or affiliation to us) were there to assure accurate timing across the Run – Bike – Run disciplines in this multi sport event.
Weather wise, some may say it was conducive to good times as it was a little overcast and chilly but remained dry for the day. The course was good for fast times being fairly flat but challenging with some chicanes and tight corners.
Laura Bardsley was fasted round for the ladies posting a very impressive 1 hr 8min and 47 secs and Gary McNamara for the men with 1 hr 2 mins and 25 secs.
Whilst these times are impressive the full story of this event in my opinion lies with the development of younger talents. With categories including family and younger age groups it really gave the sport’s future stars a platform to shine with huge encouragement for all.
TriWorks are a community of athletes bringing together people of all abilities to train, race and grow together. On hand for the day The Bike Fitters were able to help with any last minute adjustments or repairs, ensuring all participants could achieve the best from their bikes.
