It was a BRILLIANT Friday evening, hosted by Newcastle Front Runners the Newcastle Pride Runs around Leazes Park. Newcastle Pride Runs had something for everyone, a kids mile, adults 5k plus music and stalls. The Fire Service, Police and Ambulance all attended with games and informtaion.
The event host Gloria Love (@missglorialove) was superbly aided by the one and only Dame Kelly Holmes. What a star she was chatting with EVERYONE, literally must have had her ears talked off. She also took part in the run, the warm up and of course the prize giving.
The fancy dress part was embraced by all with rainbow colours practically everywhere. An astronaut pursued by a group of aliens was the eventual fancy dress winner. The fantastic Metro Gnomes were on hand to ‘help’ keep spirits up cheering along the unners not that many needed this if any. High fives and motivation for the runners was never short of supply. And not many events can boast a troupe of unicorns as the tail runners, but they followed everyone home and ensured no one was left behind.
With an amazing atmosphere from start to finish and fabulous goody bags for everyone this was a fantastic night for everyone, Massive WELL DONE to the organisers and all who came along… You NAILED IT.
