Derwent Reservoir 5 and 10 miler

Wild Deer Events returned to Derwent Reservoir one of their favourite and most popular venues. This time trail runs of 5 or 10 mile. With the 10 miler going all the way around the reservoir on closed roads. What a fantastic morning it was with it remaining mostly dry except for a short rain shower.

David Jones set an impressive 32mins for the 5 mile and David Young recorded 56mins for the 10 miler. With over 500 finishers of all abilities it was an impressive field including great attendance from local clubs like Durham City Harriers, Heaton Harriers and Washington Running Club to name a few.

A big shout out to Jonny who helped photograph the event with me. His shots from the road section looking down the reservoir are typically great especially given the challenging backlight.

Wild Deer head to Culzean Castle this weekend, a fantastic venue at the West of Scotland, we’ll share the photos next week.
